Many times we heard the phrase (split routine) for best results at the gym. And many times over the technique has been used with some success at times and little progress most of the time. The truth is that a split routine will never work on a goal attempting weight loss or toning your body. Simply because of the demands involved in thermogenesis process or: ( the production of heat in the human body).

You will never produce enough heat by spending time on a single muscle by, spending 3 or 5 sets per body part, just ridiculous. However, if you are seeking to bulk up, it will most likely be the end result. Nevertheless, that isn’t what we want to talk here, we do need to understand how to burn calories with strength training. And have a weight loss effect.

Total Body Training

Instead make choices of over 20 reps with light weight, with some cardio in between. For example on the bench press exercise, I try 20 reps for sets of two then in between jump to mountain climbers and continue with bicep curls for 20 more reps 2 sets, then a plank for 1 minute etc. Do you get the idea?. The key is transferring enough heat in your muscles so rapidly can burn calories and fat through tissue stimulation and metabolic enhancing. The process is not complicated just make sure you heat all your body parts. Even if is only one set per muscle. For instance:

  • Chest: Bench press 20 reps
  • Back: Lat pull down 20 reps
  • Shoulder: Seated presses 20 reps
  • Triceps: Pushdowns 20 reps
  • Biceps: Curls 20 reps
  • Leg extension: 20 reps
  • Leg curls: 20 reps

How Many Days per Week

3 times per week is fine, in between days you can always hit the treadmill or elliptical, or even take a spin class, I enjoy swimming thus, is my favorite activity when I’m off the gym. The system is simple, and it definitely works, Stay hydrated and make sure you check with your Doctor before engaging in any physical activity.

Conclusion

Ditch the old way to train, for weight loss, split routines are obsolete. Switch to Total body and cardio strength train and experience a total meltdown. Follow our guidelines on the story and in weeks you will see a total body melt down. Stay safe!
