5 Things to avoid if want to be in shape after 40 !

Walking into my 36th birthday, my diet, my fitness, and my motivation went down. I’ve been a personal trainer for 20 years, and my objective has been helping obese clients to gain their health back. In 2010 I went through a downhill, gained some weight and got off track. I accomplished a big deal of things, by transforming many individuals, as you can see on my business website. However, one thing is trying to get a 40 year old dad in shape and healthy, and, a different one is trying to do triathlons, swim racing, and Brazilian jiu-jitsu tournaments at 46. That is my story. And maugre, my physical condition and excellent health. I thought I challenged myself by becoming more competitive. So far so good!. Hence, here is 5 things to avoid if want to be in shape after 40!. If you are a sports competitor, approaching your 40 years of age, This blog will be very helpful, or, even, if you want to take your health to the next level at 40, or after 40. Here is a compilation of what helped me and can help you as well!.

1-Avoid alcohol-

Alcohol is one of the main reasons your fitness goals are obstructed. Sugars in alcohol are men over 40 and 50’s main enemy!. Opens your appetite, damages your liver, affects your moods, increases blood pressure. If you the kind of person who has a glass of wine a day or a week. And for decades hasn’t been adding more alcohol than it. Then you probably okay. If is a quarter of small glass of wine full of sulfates, useless sugars etc, won’t kill you but don’t expect any benefits. I don’t know 1 person in my 45 years of age who doesn’t go for 2 or 3 even 4 glasses of wine after starting with one. Or the second beer, or the 3rd cocktail, after all we feel great right?. Careful with this practice. MY ADVICE IS CUT OFF ALCOHOL PERIOD.

2-CIGAR AFICIONADOS:

Another funny habit I had. Having cigars once a week, then was twice, then everyday. With the notion of thinking cigars are not bad for you, because we never inhale the smoke. I have terrible news for you: cigars take the life of many men after 40. According to the national cancer institute, cancer on cigar aficionados is raising in staggering numbers. Mouth cancer, esophagus cancer, lung cancer and other diseases incur by this deadly habit, are real and happening. In my personal case I developed a horrible phlegm, and my swimming and Brazilian Jiujitsu toiled as well as other activities. After getting really sick one day with horrible caughing and phlegm, I promised my self I was done with that garbage.

3-Meat Consumption:

Avoid red meat at all costs. It’s a big fairy tale we have been told of how meat helps us to get greats amounts of protein. Nothing could be farther from the truth. Red meat is the number one cause of cancer in the US. It clings in to your intestinal walls and stays there for years. Obstructs your digestive track and whether organic or not, you don’t know if the animal you eating had diabetes, cancer or a disease you will be eating, as a result of that juicy steak you think is delicious and nutritious. 4-Sleep 6 to 8 hours at least

Sleeping 6 to 8 or even 10 hours a day is vital for your recovery. Therefore, you shouldn’t be sleeping less than 6 hours a day. At the first stage of sleep your body is very active repairing itself. The rest is pure rest. Don’t neglect this face as is important to your recovery and energy levels during the day if you want to get fit after 40, is crucial you get enough rest.

5-Avoid Noise And Cell phones while driving.

This is very important. Refocusing in getting fit when we are at a middle age stage. Is not an easy task, requires concentration and energy well channeled. Listen to classic music while driving to work. Turn off your cell phone. Breath. Inhale and exhale. Be in the here and now. Don’t worry about your next work out, stay focus. Noise can deteriorate your day, make you moody, forgetful. When you live in the moment and observe the sun raising, the rain falling or snow, you learn to enjoy your present time. Middle man who are extremely fit after 40 tend to execute their plans differently than men in their 20’s r 30’s. Your job security, your family’s welfare, your health is important. You need to find the inner-self, stay calm, focus, and driven. Your mind is the number one tool your body will use to get fit at 40. If it is somewhere else your health goals will be diluted. You need to focus and get back to the here and now constantly.

Conclusion

Avoid alcohol, stay away from any form of tobacco, quit meat consumption, stay in the here and now, sleep at least 6 hours a day, and will guaranteed you gloom in few weeks after avoiding those 5 habits men after 40 tend to adopt.!
